I am a drop of water in a river that flows to the sea . I am a leaf that grows a season to dry up eternally I am a blade of grass just bending in the wind But I loved and danced and sang and smiled a lifetime to rescind.
I am a twig that’s broken gathered up to feed a fire A thought in someone’s history who shares the same desire Was I part of an impression that led you through these trees Or the lover of the same gaze that looks out to the sea’s.
I may be only dust now whispering in some wind Blowing on the the same ground my body used to stand Walking with my loved one’s laughing in the rain The forest is a desert now round and round just the same .
But I loved and laughed and danced and cried and smiled ….only to rescind I am only dust now just blowing in the wind I am only dust now who whispers in the wind . I am only dust now…
Did you warm with heated moments as we shared the same camp fire Looking out just sea ward to a view that never tires I am only dust now as many were before as you and those that follow washed up upon this shore Lifted by the breezes on the twigs around a tree Sitting around the firelights that burn from you and me .
I was born on Sunday Life shined its light and smiled I went to school on Monday To learn not to be a child.
On Tuesday I started working Found out what Life means And the River of music It flowed through my dreams
Wednesday was amazing, I fell in love with you We were married by Thursday and our children came too. I was getting older by Friday, I was wiser with means And the River of music still flowed through my dreams
On Saturday came my grandsons and a granddaughter too. On Sunday I would die but I will always love you And the River of music still flowed through my dreams A Symphony of living, the laughs and the screams
If my life was a week in time That lasted seven days I would still be so thankful In all so many ways
Thankful for the music I shared with all of you The love and adventures we all had lived through A week of life, of learning, knowing what love means The family the friends, the visions and the scenes.
I won’t shed a tear. No I’ll smile as I die Because a week of life’s just a wonderful gift That too soon passes by
Train station Announcement “Ladies and gentlemen, the train about to depart from platform seven is the eight fifty five, going to nowhere…”
Saw a girl with bags And a suitcase on wheels. She looked sad and in trouble. She’d broken one of her heels. She was limping through life A lot like you and me Just working to survive Just working to be free.
Saw a boy, he came to help her He gave her a smile Took her bags, took her trolley And sat her down for a while. He mended her shoe Just broke off the other heel No longer alone she felt happy She felt real.
Rf: Trains, full of people, Going nowhere Some of them young, some with grey hair. Some of them happy, some of them blue. Millions of people Just like me, just like you.
Guitar solo
Trains, full of people, Going nowhere Some of them young, some with grey hair. Some of them happy, some of them blue. Millions of people Just like me, just like you.
Going along our way Sometimes with friends Hoping for some luck Before our journey ends.
Rf
Trains, full of people, Going nowhere Some of them young, some with grey hair. Some of them happy, some of them blue. Millions of people Just like me, just like you.
Guitar solo
All of them working For money to live Each not realizing They have so much to give. Each day-a page In the book of their time. Will they ever live their true life Before the final bell chimes.
Rf: Trains, full of people, Going nowhere Some of them young, some with grey hair. Some of them happy, some of them blue. Millions of people Just like me, just like you.
Some of them happy, some of them blue. Millions of people Just like me, just like you.
This song was written after a talk in a bar with an alcoholic who had lost his partner.
Black and white ceiling In the WC I,m on my back. I,m feeling So unhappy A big guy comes along, drags me up ..off the floor Throws me outside and just locks up the door ………. I call up a taxi ..I know he,ll rob me Get back to my room ..and I can,t find the key I wake up its morning ..throw up Feel the pain What’s wrong with me ..I,m an alcoholic again ……………….
I go see my friends have a whisky or too What’s wrong with.. me… so lost without you . What’s wrong with me now Why all this pain What’s wrong with me I,m an alcoholic again …….. What’s wrong with me Simple its true What’s wrong with me I,m lost without you What’s wrong with me …..dont know what to do What’s wrong with me I,m lost without you !! ………………………………………
BONES MOAN FROM THE COLD OF THIS RIDE THAT I’M ON GONA CRUISE FOR A WHILE GET A SMILE FROM THE SUN
THE LOAD OF THE ROAD IS WEARING ME DOWN NO SMILES FOR A WHILE I WILL STOP AT THIS TOWN
I’M DRINKING A WHISKY THINKING OF YOU MY BIKE HAS GONE COLD LIKE MY FUTURE IT’S BLUE
RF SO BLUE, SO BLUE, BLUE WITHOUT YOU
I’VE TRAVELLED TOO FAR TO THIS BAR I AM IN NO FEAR I SIT HERE IT’S JUST YOU I’M MISSING I SPEED ON THE LINES FROM TOWN TO TOWN I LAY LOW ON THE BENDS THAT MY KNEE GOES AROUND
DON’T KNOW WHERE I’M GOING MY HEAD’S IN A SPIN THINKING OF YOU AND THE FIX THAT I’M IN
RF IT’S BLUE, SO BLUE, BLUE WITHOUT YOU
I’M DRUNK IN A BAR AN OLD MAN STARES AT ME I RAISE MY GLASS AND I SMILE AS I REALIZE IT’S ME
I’M FEELING SO TIRED I’M REFLECTING ON YOU NOT MUCH FUN WHEN YOU’RE ALONE JUST MAKES YOU BLUE
RF SO BLUE, SO BLUE, BLUE WITHOUT YOU SO BLUE, SO BLUE, BLUE WITHOUT YOU
My eyes are only looking in one direction I turn around to look But I just don’t see It’s all dark behind me There’s light up ahead Seems that up ahead’s The only place that I see.
Are you behind me now? Are you behind me now? Are you behind me now?
Life’s strange.
I know what’s behind me It was part of my vocation Not sure of my location If it isn’t with you
So I just keep walking Can’t hear you talking Seems that every corner Gives a different view.
Are you behind me now? You are behind me now. You are behind me now.
Life’s strange.
I see new horizons I’ve got to keep my eyes on Everything is new now It’s so strange. So I just keep walking There’s different people talking Seems that up ahead Is the only place I see.
So you’re behind me now. So you’re behind me now. So you’re behind me now.
Life’s so strange.
You re behind me now. Yeh You re behind me now You re behind me now.
